• Independent appointment scheduling: Your recruitment efforts using givesblood.org will guide donors to a section of the website where they can sign up for a specific appointment time without you needing to get involved at all, saving you up to hours of time.
• Donor control to move or delete an appointment: Once a donor has created an appointment, he or she can return to givesblood.org to change the time of their appointment or delete the appointment entirely. You don’t need to spend any time helping donors modify their appointments.
• Up-to-date drive progress and schedule: You can always access an up-to-date summary of your drive’s progress with information like signups in the last 24 hours and view or print the current drive schedule.
• Automated emails to donors: Givesblood.org will automatically send donors a few emails to improve their experience and reduce the “no-show” rate of your drive. We send an email to the donor when they make their appointment, confirming the details. 24 hours before the drive the donor receives a reminder about the appointment, and 24 hours after the drive the donor receives a final email thanking them for their donation.
• Feedback from donors: In the thank you email to donors, we invite them to fill out an anonymous post-drive survey about their experience. You can access the results of the survey and get valuable feedback about how the blood drive went. Historically, many donors leave comments saying they had a great experience at the drive.

Our Roots:

givesblood.org was created in spring 2003 as an experiment for online scheduling at the University of Pennsylvania. The test system was successful and was immediately expanded to eight colleges and universities in the greater Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

We currently operate at more than 30 colleges/universities across the country.
